To Build the Kingdom of God by Planting Churches... One Disciple at a Time

The Carpenter's Apprentices is a community of discipleship and ministry schools (The Carpenter's Workshops) operated over the World Wide Web. These schools, together with semi-annual ministry retreats for hands-on ministry and impartation, provide the ideal modern environment for training up men and women of God for the ministry.

Seminaries and Bible colleges do an admirable job of teaching theology and the theory of ministry, so we don't try to duplicate their good work. Our job is to teach the practice of discipleship and ministry. We do this by instilling calling and character in the student before teaching ministry.

Instruction takes place in an online environment designed to encourage the student's learning of the trade and craft of ministry. The teaching, school community, and regular retreats facilitate the steady growth desired by anyone learning a trade - from apprentice level to journeyman to master.

Our Mission at the Apprentice Level is twofold: First, to develop in the disciple the most important foundation for their future ministry: a clear calling and a godly character. Second, to give the disciple understanding and practical experience with the power and gifts of the Holy Spirit. These are tools given for the implementation of the disciple's future ministry; it is therefore important to give the disciple practical experience in their use before sending them out on their own.

Our Mission at the Journeyman Level is to give the disciple practical training in the specific ministries to which he or she is called. Specifically, we offer hands-on training in what is sometimes known as the "fivefold ministry" - apostolic, prophetic, evangelistic, pastoral and teaching ministries - as well as in the supporting ministries of helps, intercession, healing, and psalmistry.

Our Mission at the Mastery Level - and our overall mission in general - is to advance the kingdom of God by planting churches and establishing individual support ministries. We first encourage those who have graduated from Journeyman Level schools to gather together for the purpose of planting healthy churches based on a biblical, fivefold ministry model. Alternatively, there may be those who feel called to "go it alone", and establish individual support ministries of varying types. These, too, we strongly encourage. For both, The Carpenter's Apprentices offers assistance, apostolic oversight and covering, and a continuing of the "community of saints" they came to know when they first enrolled in The Carpenter's Apprentices.
