The real work of making disciples at The Carpenter's Apprentices is accomplished in The Carpenter's Workshops - the combined discipleship and ministry "schools" which form the heart of the ministry.
Because seminaries and Bible colleges do an admirable job of teaching theology and the theory of ministry, we don't try to duplicate their good work. Our job is to teach the practice of discipleship and ministry, not the theory and theology. We do this by first instilling calling and character in the student, and then teaching ministry.
Instruction takes place in an online environment designed to encourage the student's learning of the trade and craft of ministry. The online community we have created is the ideal environment for training up men and women of God for ministry in the fast-paced world of 21st century, post-modern America. The in-depth teaching, the online school community and the regular retreats (for face-to-face, hands-on teaching and impartation) facilitate the steady growth desired by anyone learning a trade - from apprentice level to journeyman to master.
